Volunteer Appreciation Reception
All volunteers are invited to attend our Volunteer Reception on April 11 at 3:00. Our volunteers support us by chaperoning field trips, providing lunch relief, serving on school committees, assisting in classrooms, and so much more! Please allow us to show our sincere appreciation by attending the upcoming reception. Childcare will be provided for children in grades K-5. Hope to see you there!

Please join us for Spirit Night on Monday, April 8th, at the Woodruff Rd. Chick-fil-A from 5:00-8:00 pm. Dress in your most comfy pajamas for PJ Night! Be sure to mention Bethel when ordering. We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to the following people who were recently recognized by the Bethel PTA – Mandi Palmer (PTA Volunteer of the Year), Farrah Stephen (PTA Teacher of the Year), and Julie Cooke (PTA Support Staff of the Year). Thank you for all you do!!

Spring Dance
Our Spring Dance will be held Friday, April 12th from 6-8. Admission will be $5 for Bethel students only. Parents, bring your chairs, sit back, and relax. There will be food, drinks, and treats available for purchase.

Next School Year
Looking ahead to the 2013-2014 school year, parents will be allowed to send Mrs. Byrd a letter providing information about their child(ren). This information will be considered as the administrative team makes classroom assignments for next year. You may choose to include your child’s strengths and weaknesses and also his/her learning style. Please understand that we have many students at Bethel, and we will do our best to accommodate students’ needs when possible. Separate letters should be submitted for each child, and you are asked to submit a hard copy of your letter(s). Parents will not be allowed to request a specific teacher. If a specific request is made, it will not be honored. If you choose to submit a letter to Mrs. Byrd, please do so no later than April 30.

Student Council  to Raise Money for Make-A-Wish Foundation
Student Council will be selling cups for 50 cents, and bracelets and magnets for $1.00 each during the week of April 8th-12th. Student Council will also host a Hat Day on April 12th. Students can pay $1.00 to wear a hat that day at school. Please support Student Council’s efforts for this worthy cause.

Bethel is on the hunt for $500!!
Seek and Snap is Sunday, April 14, in downtown Greenville! This family-friendly, digital, scavenger hunt is a fundraiser for Let There Be Mom.  Your four person team will have two hours to SEEK answers to clues/riddles and SNAP proof of your find.  Seek & Snap is a great memory making event for friends and families and an excellent team building exercise for businesses. Teams should register on-line at Let There Be Mom's website by April 3 (late fee applies after March 27). LTBM will award the school with the highest percentage of votes $500!  So register today! www.lettherebemom.org    Volunteers are also needed and can register on-line, as well.

Bethel Bash
Plans are well under way to make this the best BASH ever!! May 17th will be here before we know it; so plan now to attend!! It’s the perfect family fun event. There will be new attractions, fun games, great food and a “small kid zone.” Please note that the playground equipment will be off limits to ensure the safety of all BASH attendees! We welcome all confetti eggs, silly string and hair paint donations!!

Volunteers Needed
The Bethel Bash is one of the most fun events for our students as well as our volunteers! We need volunteers the day of May 17th to help with set-up, selling tickets, selling concessions, running carnival games and rides, and much more. Please mark it on your calendar now and plan to help out and join the fun! Let us know if you're interested by emailing Lori Flaherty at loriyflaherty@gmail.com or anyone on the PTA Board, to be put on the list of carnival volunteers, and you will be contacted as it gets closer to the date.

Silent Auction
The Raffle/Auction items are beginning to come in. This is going to be an exciting event with lots of great stuff to win. If you haven’t sent in an item yet for class baskets, please consider doing so. April 12th is the last day to turn in items, and each grade level will want to have the most items donated for a chance to earn a prize. More details to follow soon! Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the BASH & Silent Auction on May 17!!! Joni Puckett & Bhumika Chhabra – Auction/Raffle Chairs
