IOWA Testing for 2nd Grade
The IOWA test will be
administered to all second graders on Monday, November 9th and
Tuesday, November 10th. The IOWA
test is a nationally standardized test which measures students’ performance in
reading and math.
Testing Tips:
- Get a good night’s sleep the evening before the test.
- Eat a healthy breakfast the morning of the test.
- Make every effort to be at school each day of testing.
- Encourage your child to listen carefully to their teacher.
- Remind your child to read each question and response before selecting their answer.\
- Encourage your child to do their best work.
Book Fair
Our fall book fair is here!
Please join us before the PTA Meeting on Monday, November 9th
from 4:30-6:30 to shop. Parents are also
welcome to come shop during the day as well!

for our PTA meeting. There will be a short meeting starting at 6:30 followed by
our fourth grade performance. Hope to

Veteran’s
Day
Bethel Students will be honoring the Veterans of our Nation
with a Veteran’s Day “Walk of Honor” outside the school. Student created posters will be on display
Wednesday, November 11th. We hope everyone can take the "Walk of Honor" to see this wonderful display honoring our Veterans.
Reading
Teacher of the Year - Linda Manley
Congratulations to Linda
Manley, our Distinguished Reading Teacher of the Year for the 2015-2016 school
year. Mrs. Manley is originally from Pensacola, Florida. She graduated from
Florida State in 1990. She moved to Houston, TX where she lived for about 7 years
and taught 7th and 5th grade math. The summer of 2001, she moved to
Simpsonville. She taught 5th grade at East North Street Academy for 7 years and
this will be her 9th year at Bethel. Way to go!
