Reading Teacher of the Year!
Congratulations to Katie Saunders!   She was chosen by our faculty as the Distinguished Teacher of Reading.  Katie is a second grade teacher and has been at Bethel for four years.  Katie will now compete for Greenville County Teacher of the Year in the spring.

Greenville Road Warrior – Six for Sticks!
The Greenville Road Warriors wants everyone to be a Reading Warrior!  Students need to read 6 appropriate books and they will receive one complimentary ticket to the Reading Warriors Game Night and a kids meal form Burger King.  All you have to do is complete the reading log that was sent home in Friday folders, read 6 books, and then return the form back to school.  We hope everyone will participate!  Reading logs are due by October 24th!

Lunch ‘n Learn Parent Workshop on Internet Safety!
Join us for our first parent workshop on internet safety for children! Rick Floyd, a certified security technician for Greenville County Schools, will be coming to Bethel Elementary on Thursday, October 9th at 12:00 pm.  He will give a presentation to parents on how to keep children safe as they use the internet, social media, and other technology.  This is a free workshop for parents!  Look for a flyer with more information to come home with students early October.  For questions, please call Mrs. Glenn at 355-4186.

Chick-fil-A Spirit Night!
Join us for Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A on Woodruff Rd. from 5:00-8:00 pm.  We hope everyone can come out and support our PTA!

PTA Reflections!
National PTA Reflections welcomes all grades and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Annually, thousands of students will reflect on a common theme and create original works of art in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. The world would be a better place if... is the theme for the 2014-2015 school year. Go to South Carolina PTA for more information.  Reflection Entries are due this Friday, October 10th.
