Classroom Assignments
Looking ahead to the 2014-2015 school year, parents will be allowed to send Mrs. Byrd a letter providing information about their child(ren). This information will be considered as the administrative team makes classroom assignments for next year. You may choose to include your child’s strengths and weaknesses and also his/her learning style. Please understand that we have many students at Bethel, and we will do our best to accommodate students’ needs when possible. Separate letters should be submitted for each child, and you are asked to submit a hard copy of your letter(s). Parents will not be allowed to request a specific teacher. If a specific request is made, it will not be honored. If you choose to submit a letter to Mrs. Byrd, please do so no later than April 30.

PASS Testing
PASS testing will take place May 6th-9th for third, fourth, and fifth grade students. Please be sure your child attends school for testing as long as he/she is well. PASS testing will take place in the following subjects – math, reading, science, and social studies.

All Arts Night and Spring Choral Concert
Please join us for All Arts Night on May 12th. Bethel’s new principal, Ms. Nerissa Lewis, will be available to meet families in the cafeteria from 5:30-6:30 that evening. Also starting at 5:30, the halls on the lower level will be a showcase of student artwork. A scavenger hunt for hidden facts within the art will be fun for all! Also during this time, our physical education staff will offer a fun, active game in the gym for the entire family! To finish out the night, the strings ensemble will kick off their performance at 6:30 in the cafeteria. They will perform a short selection of songs. This will be followed by the Cardinal Chorus. The chorus concert will feature diverse elementary choral pieces, two of which will be performed at "The Festival of Music" at Carowinds on May 3rd.

Bethel Bash
The Bethel Bash is coming up on May 16th from 4:00-8:00 pm! We still need donations of hair paint, silly string and confetti eggs. There will be a prize for the class that has the most donations of eggs! Also, we still need volunteers the day of the carnival to help with set-up, selling tickets, selling concessions, running carnival games and rides, and much more. Please email Lori Flaherty at loriyflaherty@gmail.com if you would like to volunteer.

Leadership Roles at Bethel
Are you interested in taking on a leadership role at Bethel? We currently are looking for a President Elect for the 2014-2015 school year. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Stephanie Yearwood at glocksandthe3bears@gmail.com.

Yearbooks
All pre-ordered yearbooks will be sent home with students on Thursday, May 22nd. Any remaining yearbooks will go on sale beginning Friday, May 23rd (first come first served) for $15 each.
