During the month of September many of our students will take MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing in reading and math.  This computerized test will be given to all students in grades 2-5 and some 1^st graders.  Your child’s teacher will communicate the testing dates to you.  Results will be sent home as soon as they are available.

PTA MEMBERSHIPS

Don't forget to join the PTA!   We are counting on your assistance to help Bethel reach 100% membership.  Memberships are $5.  In order to reach 100%, we ask that you join for each student you have at Bethel.  You should have received a membership form in the packet distributed at Meet the Teacher.  If you are in need of another form or have questions, please contact Mandi Palmer at todd.palmer@hotmail.com or Stephanie Yearwood at glocksandthe3bears@gmail.com.

Boosterthon is back!

We are excited to have Boosterthon back for a second year. We had great success during our inaugural year last year and profited over $38,000.00 which provided items such as playground equipment and choral risers. Boosterthon is a different kind of fundraiser. While still raising money for our school, the Boosterthon team is in our school teaching our children about fitness, character and leadership.

PTA will kick-off our Boosterthon fundraiser beginning September 11.  We will have a pep rally with students to share information about the Boosterthon Fun Run.  Students will collect pledges and participate in the Fun Run on September 20 at Bethel.  Boosterthon will promote fitness, leadership, good character, and fun!  Parents are encouraged to attend the Fun Run for their child’s grade level on September 20 – K5/1^st (8:15-9:15), 2nd/3^rd & PMA (9:25-10:25), and 4^th/5^th & IMA (10:35-11:35).  You won’t want to miss it!

Parent Portal passwords were sent home in Meet the Teacher packets. Please be sure you login and use this resource to monitor your child’s school information.  For students in grades 2-5, parents can see all grades as they are posted in the teacher’s grade book.  This is a great way to stay informed regarding your child’s progress. 

Fall Pictures will be taken Sept. 5^th (K5, 1^st, 5^th, IMA, Irick) and 6^th (2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th, PMA, Poole). These are the pictures that will be printed in the yearbook.  Picture proofs will come home later so parents can place an order.

Cardinal Cruizers (running club) will begin on Friday, September 7^th from 7:15-7:45 am.  All students in grades 2-5 are eligible to participate.  A permission form will come home in Friday folders. Please let Mrs. Kleinfelter know if any parents are able to run/volunteer with this group.  

We have a SPIRIT NIGHT planned at Chick-fil-A of Woodruff Road on Sept. 4^th from 5-8 pm. Take a night off from cooking and eat at Chick-fil-A. Then drop your receipt in the box at the restaurant, and PTA will get 20% of the sales from that night. 

JOIN IN ON THE BOX TOPS FUN!!! 

We have a school wide goal of collecting 100,000 Box Tops. That would mean $10,000 for our school!  Get your neighbors, friends, coworkers, aunts, uncles, grandparents and anyone else you know to clip Box Tops anytime they see them. Then just put them in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name and teacher on the outside and send them in to the school. We will be having monthly contests throughout the year. The first contest deadline is September 28^th. The top winner from grades K-2 and 3-5 will win a $25 gift card to Toys R Us! So get clipping! If we reach our school wide goal of 100,000 by March 1^st the entire school will get to take part in a grand prize!
