CogAt and IOWA Testing
Second grade students will participate in the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAt) and the IOWA test.  The CogAt test will be administered October 24 - 26.  The IOWA test will be administered October 29-30.  The CogAt test is an aptitude test and the IOWA test is an achievement test. 

Testing Tips:
·         Get a good night’s sleep the evening before the test.
·         Eat a healthy breakfast the morning of the test.
·         Make every effort to be at school each day of testing.
·         Encourage your child to listen carefully to their teacher.
·         Remind your child to read each question and response before selecting their answer.
·         Encourage your child to do their best work.

Thanksgiving lunch will take place on Thursday, November 15th for kindergarten – second grade, PMA, and Mrs. Irick’s class.  Thanksgiving lunch for third – fifth grade, IMA, and Ms. Poole’s class will take place on Friday, November 16th.


Book Character Day
Book character day is coming to Bethel on Friday, November 9th!  Celebrate reading with us and dress up as your favorite book character!  We can’t wait to see everyone!

GCS Visitor and Volunteer Guidelines
ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST RECEIVE DISTRICT APPROVAL PRIOR TO VOLUNTEERING AT ANY SCHOOL/CENTER OR CHAPERONING ANY SCHOOL FIELD TRIP. PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 2-WEEKS FOR THE APPROVAL PROCESS.

Greenville County Schools (GCS), in an effort to ensure the safety of all of our students, has implemented additional security checks for school volunteers.  All volunteers must submit an online application to the district and receive clearance from the district before volunteering at any school/center or chaperoning any school field trip.  To learn more information and submit a Volunteer Application click on School Visitors and Volunteer Guidelines.
