Jr Beta Club Muscular Dystrophy Shamrock Sale

Jr. Beta Club students are sponsoring a fundraiser for our local Muscular Dystrophy Association the week of March 3rd. They will be selling shamrocks in the main hallway each morning from 7:30-7:55 for $1.00. Please consider supporting this wonderful cause.

Testing
During the month of March, students in grade 1-5 will take spring MAP testing. Your child’s teacher will let you know the exact testing dates for the reading and math portions of the test. Also, students in grades 3-5 will take the Writing portion of the PASS test March 18th and 19th. Please be sure your child gets ample sleep before testing, and encourage them to do their best on these assessments.

Make-Up Days
Students will make up three missed school days per the school system’s calendar on Friday, March 7, Monday, March 10, and Friday, June 6, based on State law that requires school districts to schedule three makeup days. Students have missed six days this school year due to inclement weather. State law also specifies that missed days beyond the three scheduled days must be made up by scheduling additional makeup days including Saturdays and/or extending school days. The school district’s plan for missed days beyond the three scheduled makeup days is on hold as the Legislature considers a bill that would provide local school boards with authority to forgive up to five school days beyond the three scheduled makeup days. Once final legislation is approved, the administration will consider the impact of and date options for additional makeup days in making a recommendation to the Board of Trustees.

PTA Information Session
Are you interested in being a PTA board member or taking on a leadership role
as a volunteer? There will be an informal meet and greet to hear about opportunities to volunteer next year. The sessions will be held on Monday, March 3rd from 5:30-6:15 pm before the PTA Meeting OR Thursday, March 6th at 9:30 am. There are several PTA Board and committee chair positions available. We currently have openings for a President Elect, Treasurer Elect and many other board and committee positions. Come find out all the ways you can help Bethel's students and staff in the coming year! If you are interested but unable to attend one of the meetings, contact Stephanie Yearwood at glocksandthe3bears@gmail.com.

Help our school win $500!

The organization is awarding the school with the highest amount of participation $500!!  Go to www.LetThereBeMom.org to learn more about the Seek & Snap and to register your team of 4.
