Please
join us for Bethel’s Family Reading Night on Monday, February 10, from 5:30-6:30 pm or fun reading activities, including
a Book Swap, reading on the Nooks, Homework Tips, guest readers, and more!
How to Participate in our Book Swap:
- Bring gently used children’s books when you come for Reading Night.
- You will get a coupon for how many books you bring to show how many you can pick out.
- During Reading Night, stop by the book swap tables, show your coupon and choose books to take home.
Books need to be:
- In good condition, no loose or torn pages, writing, or funny smells.
- Books you know others will enjoy reading.
- Bound books – no pamphlets or kids meal booklets please!
- Close to your grade level so there will be a good selection of books for children swapping.
- Books that are not important to you. ALL SWAPS ARE FINAL.
- Hardcover and soft cover books are fine, but please know you may not find a hardcover to swap for.

Valentine's Day Parties
We
will have Valentine’s Day parties on February 14 – K5, 1st, and Irick
(10:30-11:15), 2nd, 3rd, PMA, Poole (12:00-12:45), and 4th, 5th, and IMA
(1:00-1:45). Please remember to provide a balance of sweets and healthy foods
for the party!

Board Positions Available
Are
you interested in being a PTA board member or are you interested in taking on a
leadership role at Bethel? We are currently looking for parents to serve on the
Bethel PTA board for the 2014-2015 school year. The board is a group of people
that meet once a month to discuss ways to make Bethel an even better place for
our kids and plan fundraisers to help support Bethel. We currently have
openings for President Elect, Treasurer Elect and many other board and committee
positions. If you would like more information, please contact Stephanie

Our
next spirit night will be on Thursday, February 13th from 4:00-10:00 pm at

Help

Let There Be Mom is
hosting Seek & Snap, a digital scavenger hunt in Downtown Greenville, on
Sunday, March 30, from 12:00-6:00 pm. The organization is awarding the school
with the highest amount of participation $500!!

to register your team of 4. Seek & Snap is a family, friendly event! Let There Be Mom is a local non-profit
organization that helps preserve the legacies of moms and dads who have been
diagnosed with a life threatening illness.
Bethel Bash
The Bethel Bash is "Your Ticket To Fun" this year!!! Mark your calendars now for Friday, May 16th from 4-8 pm. Now's the time to get out the Confetti Egg DIY that came home and start sending in your eggs. We are currently looking for sponsors for the Bash. Reedy River Run
The
2014 Reedy River Run is coming up on February 28-March 1 and Bethel always has
a great turn out of runners! If you are interested in running in any of the
races, you can sign up for $14 through Mrs. Holly Betsill (kindergarten
teacher). Please see Mrs. Betsill for sign-up sheets and more information.
Checks can be made payable to Bethel Elementary. You can also find more information
at http://www.reedyriverrun.com/. The deadline for signing up for this discounted rate is
February 18th.
Box
Tops
Keep cutting those Box Tops!! Please tell your
family, friends and neighbors to keep cutting to help raise money for Bethel!
The deadline for turn in will be February 28th. The top student from K-2 and
3-5 will each win a $10 gift certificate to the school store. Send in clipped
Box Tops in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name and teacher.
