Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is celebrated in schools across America to raise awareness of the damage caused by drugs. Bethel will participate in Red Ribbon Week October 22 – 26. Students will receive a red ribbon on Monday, and they are encouraged to wear it to school each day. During the week, students will have the opportunity to sign our drug-free pledge banner and participate in Wear Red Day on Wednesday, October 24th. We encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of saying no to drugs. This year’s Red Ribbon Week theme is “The Best Me is Drug Free.”

Original Art
Students have been hard at work in their art classes working on Original Art. This is an annual fundraiser where 100% of the profits go right back to the art department. Your child’s artwork will come home with an order form on Monday, October 22nd. You can use this opportunity to order Christmas gifts for your children to give to family members with their artwork on it. Orders will be back in time for Christmas. If you have any questions, please contact Kelly Radecki at mkradecki@charter.net or Stephanie Yearwood at glocksandthe3bears@gmail.com.

Our next Spirit Night will be at Sticky Fingers on Woodruff Road on Tuesday, October 23rd from 5-8. Bethel will receive a portion of the LUNCH and DINNER profits. Please be sure to mention Bethel when ordering!

PTA Fall Dance
Bethel’s first dance of the year will be held on Friday, October 26th from 6-8 in the staff parking lot. If it rains, it will be held in the cafeteria. Tickets will go on sale at 5:45 before the dance. The cost is $5.00 per person for all students attending Bethel. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pizza and drinks will be available for purchase. Students may wear their Halloween costumes…no scary costumes please!

Box Tops
October 31st is our next Box Tops deadline. The class with the most Box Tops will win 10 minutes of extra recess. Please ask your grandparents, aunts, uncles, family friends and anyone else you can to save their Box Tops. Have your children create a cute container for them to collect them in. Our school wide goal for this year is to collect 100,000 Box Tops. This means $10,000 for our school! If we can do this then the entire school will win a school wide dance party!!

National School Bus Safety Week
Did you know School bus transportation is one of the safest ways to travel? In Greenville County, 358 school buses transport 25,000 children every day. That’s more than a trip around the world – every day! Greenville County Schools is celebrating the outstanding performance of our bus transportation personnel, October 22-26, during National School Bus Safety Week.
