Our school-wide theme this year is Recipe for Success! Our theme goes along great with our new culinary menu in the cafeteria. We are looking forward to "cooking up" an awesome school year!

What's New in the Cafeteria?
We look forward to having the new menu at Bethel this year! Please encourage your child to try each of our healthy menu items. Meal payments can be made on-line at www.myschoolbucks.com or your can send cash/check to school with your child. Please do not combine lunch money with any other school payments. Lunch money must be kept separate. Students are not allowed to charge meals if they do not have money in their account. As always, we ask that parents not bring fast food into the cafeteria. Also, students who eat breakfast are asked to arrive between 7:15-7:45 in order to get to class on time.

This year students will have three options to choose from when making their lunch choice. The first two options (choice A and choice B) will be hot lunches. The third option (choice C) will always be the vegetation station. The vegetation station option includes soup, salad, and bread. Soups will be made from scratch daily, and students will choose their toppings from our salad bar to create their salad.

Students who order choice A or choice B lunch also have the option of buying soup with their meal. There will be an extra $0.65 charge for the addition of soup to their entree. Healthy snacks will be sold in the cafeteria as well this year. They will range in price from $0.50-$1.00. Bottled water will be sold in the check-out lines for $1.00. We look forward to having these healthy additions in our cafeteria!

Important Transportation Information
Parents are welcome to park and walk their children to class on the first day of school. Starting the second day of school we ask that all children be dropped off in the appropriate carlines. We will have sufficient staffing and safety patrols to be sure that students get to class safely.

Please stop by the transportation table in the gym during Meet the Teacher. Representatives from the bus office will be there to answer your questions. On the first day of school, bus students will have an orientation by the bus drivers before leaving school. IMPORTANT!! If you have a K5 or 1st grade child who will need bus transportation at any time this year, you need to have a school-issued, numbered tag to show the driver at the bus stop. K5 and 1st grade students will not be allowed to exit the bus without the parent or designee showing this school-issued tag. These tags have already been distributed to all parents of K5 and 1st graders who are coded as bus riders in our database. If you have not received these tags or your need additional copies, please come to the school office. Thanks for your help!

PTA Announcements
We will be having a year long, school-wide Box Tops contest. Our goal is to collect 100,000 Box Tops by March 1st. That would be $10,000 for our school! Tell your family, neighbors, and everyone you know to start clipping. If we meet our goal by March 1st, the entire school will get to take part in a fabulous grand prize!!

We are also excited to have Boosterthon back for the second year. We love that we have found a fundraiser that focuses on the character, integrity, and fitness of our children. We will kick off our Boosterthon fundraiser with school assembly pep rallies on September 11th. Look for important information to come home on that day. Our fundraiser will conclude with the Fun Run on September 20th. We welcome family and friends to come to Bethel on that day and cheer on their child as they run laps during the Fun Run event.

We currently have a few vacant PTA positions that need to be filled at Bethel. If you are interested, please contact Stephanie Yearwood at glocksandthe3bears@gmail.com or Mandi Palmer at todd.palmer@hotmail.com. Currently we have the following open: Dances, E-News, Silent Auction, PTA Membership, and Bethel Bulletin.
