Read Across America Day

Read Across America week will be celebrated Feb. 25 - March 1. We are in need of a "few good men" to serve as male reading role models and volunteer to read in classrooms that week.  We would also like for you to talk to students about how reading is important in your career. If you are connected to a child at Bethel and would like to read a story in the classroom that week, please fill out this form and a teacher will contact you to coordinate a day/time.

Ricky Floyd Internet Safety Program
Mark your calendars and make plans to attend the program on Internet Safety by Rick Floyd on Wednesday, February 27th at 12:00 noon.

Extended Day Registration 2019-2020
We will accept new Extended Day (after school) registrations March 1st  through March 21st. The non-refundable registration fee is $40 per family. Forms are available at www.greenville.k12.sc.us/bethel or in the front office.  If you have questions, contact our program director Hanna Carlisle at 355-4167.

Multiage Application Process 2019-2020
We will be accepting multiage applications March 1st  – 21st. You may pick up an application in the front office starting March 1st or we can send one home with your child at your request. A multiage brochure containing detailed information will go home in Friday folders. Our Primary Multiage consists of 1st/2nd graders and our Intermediate Multiage consists of 3rd/4th graders. We will have open spaces in all four of these grade levels. A structured lottery will be used to select students for multiage. Parents will be notified of selection results in April.

Kindergarten and First Grade Registration
Greenville County Schools encourages parents to register for kindergarten and first grade for the 2019-2020 school year beginning December 4-7, 2018.  We are preparing for your child to enter school in August 2019 and are so excited to have your child with us.  By completing registration early, you will save time!
It is important to register your child before school starts in August so we can ensure enough teachers and spaces are available at each school for incoming kindergarten and first grade students.  Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2019 must enroll in kindergarten. A child who will be six years old on or before September 1, 2019 must enroll in first grade.  Students who are currently enrolled in a GCS 4K or 5K program do not need to register.
Please bring the following items to register:
·        Photo ID from any state or country
·        State-issued Birth Certificate
·        Properly Completed Immunization Certificate or Religious Exemption Certificate
·        Two Forms of Proof of Residence (two documents required such as a current utility bill and copy of lease agreement)
For your child’s school assignment and other information, visit the Kindergarten/First Grade Registration website or call INFOLine at 355-3100.

We Need You

PTA is currently looking for people to serve on the PTA Board and Committee chairs for the 2019-2020 school year.  If anyone would like more information, please email Bethelptapresident@gmail.com

Updates for Emergency Text Messaging

Parents, if you currently have a landline listed as your “Primary Contact Phone” and wish to receive texts about school cancellations or other emergency schedule changes, please download and print this change in phone number form and return it to school. Parents who already list a cellular phone as their primary contact will not need to take action to receive this service.
There’s An App for That!
Be sure you have downloaded our new app! You can download from the Apple Store or Google Play. The App will give you information on lunch menus, teacher websites, upcoming events, spirit nights, and much more.
